a stumble down memory lane

last night i got a call from a friend of mine. we used to go to the same babysitting center more than 10 years ago. 10 years ago, i was still living in shah alam, ss17 in a house where there's more water leaks than all the windows in the house. i remember there's a football field in front of my house and i used to camp there with my friends. spreading our sleeping bags on the ground and looking up to the night sky(i bet it was be a beautiful sight back in the 90's compared to now). there's also a type of plant/grass growing in that field...the roots smelled like Sarsi. mom and dad was busy working at that time...the 90's(tough times). so i was sent to the center...and they told me i wasnt 'banana' at the time(i could speak hokkien & mandarin)...damn what happened in the 10yrs i was in subang...??

i was young when i moved to subang. maybe thats why i'm having a hard time recalling the good old days... where freedom literally means...FREEDOM(no catch). 1st i thought i remembered there would be a big group at the reunion, but ended up there were only 4 of us(hehe...proves how gd my memory back then). we went chit chat and yumcha at old town, and the longer we talked the more i felt they looked very familiar. two guys two girls(Eli, Janice, Vannie & me. strange i always thought the house was more packed than that). though we dont have much in common now but i felt it was easy talking to them. i told them bit of subang...that there's no one place to find good food and drinks at the same place. we caught up on few things...

i still keep in touch with the auntie and uncle who runs the place, just that everytime i go visit, it will be only 2 of them at home, their children is either working or studying abroad. this friend who called me, i met up with him last year when we went one of the owner's daughter's wedding. i moved out of there right before i enter tadika. i remember that my neighbor have a tape player at the time and i used to go his house to watch movies. bout when i was in primary, me and my dad went back to collect some mail that was sent to our old house. apparently an Indian family lives there now...(hope they fixed the leaks...). my dad drives an old van that time and my mom drives a Volkswagen Beatle(armored personnel carrier, APC ).

i remember that the 3 daughters of the house, each of them plays a classical instrument. a pianist and 2 violinist. i also remembered that there's a studio room in the house where they keep the instruments with dark green carpet. maybe thats why even though the music makes me sleepy, i still listen to them(exposed but not immune). well is a good to know that everyone of my friends moved out of shah alam ss17. looking back now, the environment was a bit run down and scary and there's not many Chinese family there(i was attending kenduris more often than CNY gatherings...hehe). maybe thats why 4 of us were so close that time. now i have this urge to fill up the space and find those memories 10years ago. Janice said she have a photos of us back in the days(gosh i would be like 2-3 feet tall)...hopefully i could get a hold of it...
