in the evening, my mom told me that she's going to dad's shop to get her eyes checked and make some new glasses. my dad has this shop in complex PKNS, shah alam. she asked me to tag along coz its been a long time since i was there, besides making new specs(which was like few years in between). every time i go there, its always like a trip walking down memory lane... i started going to my dad's shop back when tucking in your shirts was cool and shorts was the only pants i had. after so many years, the shops are still there (well the ones i know and always lepak in). my dad's shop i think has been there for several decades, should be in the malaysia book of records or something....u'll never see those records being held by any shops here in subang.
upon arrival business was...busy and my dad had to tend to his customers. me, my mom and sis decided to take a look around. first was the watch shop where i get all my watches. still looks like the same old watch shop i knew. the owner and his wife, arent getting younger but they seems to be doing fine. i heard their daughter is studying in taylors, been a while dunno if i can recognise her. after that, we walked to the end of the complex, i really like this complex because its not as big as other complexes where u'll get all tired just by walking from one shop to another. i walked pass a shop which was situated under the escalator, they sell wafles, corn, fruits and ice-cream. defintely hung out a lot there, not to mention there was an arcade next to it, not with arcade machines though but ps(the original 1st edition big ass playstation). they also sells pc games. i used to buy games and chuck it anywhere on my body so my dad wont find it...hehe.

i remembered there was a bowling alley in the complex. but the final few trips of mine saw the closing and demolition of the bowling alley...(damn they had the coldest air-cond in the whole building). there was also this indian bookshop, i used to dissapear from the shop to the bookshop and read their comics (despite the sign 'no reading'). damn i read plenty of comic books, such as dragon ball, satria naga, conan, doraemon, samurai x...etc. then they had this mini library opened on the 1st floor where you can go in and read books, that place was easily 1 of my favorite spot as the range of comic book was huge! initial D, GTO, getBackers, dragon ball GT, x-men...and they always update they comic books...its like i died and gone to comic heaven.

during my days at the shop, there i had a cousin working there aswell. he was way older then me and he showed me some amazing lepak-ing joints. he showed me that McD, KFC and pizza hut wasnt the only place to get good food. one day he brought me to the roof of the complex. what do you know, there were shops there. one was a chicken rice shop where i had eaten the best chicken rice in my entire life. not even till today had i found a shop that comes close to it. he even showed me how to fish without using a rod. in front of the complex is a lake, called shah alam lake i think. he grab a few metres of nylon strings from the shop and made a hook out of spectacles frame...and the best part was he did caught some fish. we had to use newspaper to wrap the fish before bringing it back to the shop. my dad...his reaction was normal. the last thing i remembered was a boat and aquatic life show held at the lake. huge ships with big engines, speed boats that skips on the water...a fish so big where the aquarium was a few metres away with a sign "no feeding". cant really get a good look but judging from the size of the aquarium... thats one nasty ripper.
there was also an electronic shop where i hung out. why? well lets say there are 5 to 6 tv's showing the best movies ever(most was jackie chan movies)...what else to do la. and another thing its not only me that is watching, passer by who has nothing to do all join in sitting along the corridor starring into the shop. the shop owner was kind enough to hooked up some speakers as well so you got perfect audio and video. the tv's was on showcase right in front of the shop. u can see them clearly. this arent like those shop u go to where they play re-runs of a scene, this was the entire movie!

always in my thought, i wonder why my dad never thought me anything while i was at his shop. maybe he didnt see the interest in me or maybe i was too young to understand. even though i'm not taking over the family business, i cant picture the shop not being in the family cause, those were good times...goood~times...
