based on the science fiction anime, Macross from 1982, comes Macross Frontier(2008). apparently this franchise have a whole lot of history, featuring 3 tv series, 3 movies, 4 OVAs(original video animation) and 2 manga series.
Macross Frontier introduces Earth's latest variable fighter, VF-25 Messiah and a new starship, Macross Quarter. the new series is set in the year 2059AD which takes place in a new macross colony fleet called Macross Frontier. because humanity was on the verge of extinction, large fleets was sent out to search for new worlds.
this series features the 25th Colonial Fleet aka Macross Frontier. the population contains both human and their Zentradi allies(human like...but their height is bout 10 storeys tall?). during explorations of an asteroid belt, they came across a fast and power biomechanical insect looking alien aka Vajra which began attacking the fleet. the nuns(New U.N Spacy) couldnt stop them so they deploy the civilian military provider called S.M.S.

so far the storyline is great, havent got a 'yawn' moment yet and the animation is cutting edge. there are also a lot of nice songs. so far theres only 9 episode...cant wait for the rest. wiki for more info...
