Mid-Autumn Festival: would like some mooncake with that?

oohh... look at the moon, be-u-ti-ful...
on the way back from dinner, i saw the field near my house was brightly lit with candles and lanterns. it looks like people are taking it to the streets celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon cake Festival. apparently they say that the moon will be particularly bright this couple of nights. i dunno... i just like the moon cakes. it should always be eaten in small slices which goes along with some chinese tea.

makes me wonder, where are my lanterns & candles? i remember when i was young, i would take out all my candles and lit them up, putting them around flower pots and anywhere that i can find a flat surface with some cover from the wind...but it has been while since. beside candles, i would lit up lanterns and hang them all over the porch. the funny thing is the next day all the plants will be yellow or even burnt.

moon cake fest in my hometown, back then. i remembered i had this hand made lantern i bought in my home town. that was really really long time ago man where mostly everybody will walk in the moonlight carrying their lanterns. i still remember me, my unc and a bunch of my couz would walk up the street from my grandma house and buy some midnight snacks (siu yie).

and in the recent years, i and a few friends would get together like a gathering will head out to a nearby field and just...chill. we would chat, ask how things are going, gossiping, joking around etc. with a little candle light and lanterns of course.

when i got back home, i saw my neighbour had a few lanterns up and the kids were playing with candles. but then i heard...(omg!), why on EARTH would anyone buy an 'electronic lantern'. it's just SO wrong, you know? spoiler. so what is it plays music? so what if it is battery operated? so what if it is brighter? really no feel la...if i would to buy an electronic lantern, i would be so embarrassed i would probably burn it right on the spot. (hmm...maybe that's why i couldn't find my lanterns, i burnt them all...hehe)

my couz did call me to go back hometown this week and i was looking forward to it as well, i'm having my mid term holiday now but some guy had to ask for extra class...y la y... i would ponteng also if not because my lecturers decide on giving us test... bummer which reminds me, i should probably hit the books now...or should i hit the sack instead? bummer
