few days ago, i went on a trip that was organized by an e
ngineering society. it was 1 night and 2 days in cameron highlands. we arrived at college at around 6.30am and left for cameron by 7.30am. we realised there was a major problem with the bus the 1st moment we climbed aboard, there was not a single female being in sight. all you see is testosterones...(bummer).
anyway the road trip was a killer. after an hou
r plus on the road and everyone just cant sit still anymore, thus turning the bus into a casino(cards), bar(snacks and drinks) and cinema(on-board tv). eventually everyone s around checking out the environtarted to doze off, so by mid way it was a pretty silent road trip. we reached tanah rata right before noon. we start scoutingment, building and apartments not to mention searching for the closest wash-room(in a restaurant). we even spotted some cc(cyber cafe) in town. the cost RM2.80 per hour and its so called the "cheapest" in the area.
at around 12.30pm, we finally got to our apartments and settle in. there was 26-28 of us including bus driver and crew, but there was only 3 apartments. isnt there something wrong with this equation? it was organized by engineers(future engineers) and they couldnt see a problem with this situation?... O.o" since its all guys anyway so what the heck, we just moved
right in. my apartment has 9 person including myself. there was 3 bedrooms. some of the guys wanted to watched tv before they sleep so they slept in the living area on the sofas. some fellas cant sleep so they played cards in one room while me myself slept in one room and 2 was in the 3rd room...real comfy sleeping on a bed compared to the sofafew minutes after we arrived, there was a tasty lunch w
ait
waiting here for us and preparing our meal...how thoughtful. before we lefing for us. apparently the lecturers already had someonet, we scouted the area searching for a nice spot to barbecue. and we did, just next to the playground, a wide open space. around 2-3pm, we went to visit the hydro electric station in the area. we're amazed of the gigantic size
of the turbines up close and how loud it gets when its running. the station is fully computerized. thats all i knew cause, i'm in ME while this trip was actually for EE students ...hehe... lost, just joining the crowd. later we went to a small farm or something, it grows and sells many types of fruits and flowers. we took pictures and bought some fruits before moving on to the tea plantation.we had some tea while enjoying the beautiful scenaries and relaxing breeze. in the middle of the plantation is a small little waterfall. the guys decided to hike down to have a closer look(not a smart move). at 1st i didnt noticed it but getting to the waterfall was like hiking off a really steep hill. going down was easy but getting back was major task as we had to hike up hill not to mention it was so steep. i bought a box of tea-bags before we left. lastly, we had a tour of the town and bought some supplies before heading back to out apartments. all exhausted and tired. some took naps while other played cards and watched tv(they have ASTRO there).

in the evening we set up the barbecue stuff and brought out all the meat. we had to barbecue in the dark because the playground lights wont turn on, luckily there was some street lamppost to aid us. and we didnt brought the right tools for the barbecue. minor set back but all in all it was great. it rain a little on us which made it really cold that night. there was a lot of food, chicken wings, sausages, beef and lamb and lots of salads as well. there was also fried mee hoon and noodles... it was a feast i tell you.
next day, morning call was 6am, everyone had a hard time waking up. we had our breakfast at the lecturers apartment. roti canai and some other indian food, no idea what they were(but 1 of them were real spicy). before we head back to college, we decided to have a few stop to see the sights. we went to the cactus and strawberry farm. ate strawberry ice-cream(tasty). then we went to the butterfly farm. lots of stuff there. they were bugs, snakes and lizards and lots of butterfly. after that we went to the a market were some bought vegetables, fruits and even cactus. next destination was a giant waterfall. there were many people there taking pictures and etc. when everything is settle we start our journey back. the trip back was longer due to the rain and heavy traffic. by the time we reached college everyone was bushed. luckily my pals were in the area thus fetched me home. end.
